The cost of the class is $675 which includes wood, foam and the seat bottom for your chair. Upholstery costs not included.
Building a chair is one of the most challenging projects for a woodworker and in this class we’ll cover the steps for building a complicated piece of furniture like this. You’ll process the wood, do compound angled joinery precisely and efficiently, shape your pieces using the band saw and the shaper, be shown some gluing and clamping techniques and leave the class with a chair ready to be upholstered. It’s usually possible for everyone to put a coat of finish on their completed chair before they leave.
As in all of our classes, we will run you through how to use the machines to produce the best results and minimize risk.
For those interested in building more chairs of their own you’ll be able to copy the templates used for making this dining chair and we can lend out a mortiser for a nominal fee and/or provide some help from our shop depending on what tools you have in your own shop.
